Most visa advisers stop where the immigration forms end. We start earlier: with the company, the investment and the legal structure your residency will stand on. One engagement covers both, led by Portuguese counsel and executed with specialist immigration lawyers in our network.
Which route fits depends on what you are bringing to Portugal: a business, capital, remote income or a startup. In a 30-minute call we can usually tell you which one applies and what it will cost, in full.
The D2 is the natural route for founders who are incorporating in Portugal. It rests on a real business: a Portuguese company, a credible business plan and the means to support yourself while you build it.
This is where doing the company and the visa with the same team pays off. Your incorporation, share capital, business plan and visa file are built as one coherent case rather than assembled from separate advisers who never speak to each other.
Visa support from €4,500 when bundled with company formation. Quoted in full before you commit.
Since the end of the real estate route, the Portuguese Golden Visa runs mainly through regulated investment funds: a minimum of €500,000 in qualifying funds, with at least 60% invested in Portuguese companies. Alternative routes include €500,000 into scientific research, €250,000 into cultural heritage projects, or qualifying job-creating investment.
The investment leg is legal work before it is immigration work: fund due diligence and subscription documents, source-of-funds files, KYC, and the holding structure through which you invest. That is the work we do directly, as Portuguese counsel. The residency filings are executed with specialist immigration counsel in our network, under one engagement.
Fixed fee, quoted in full after a scoping call, covering the investment and residency legs together.
For remote employees and freelancers earning from outside Portugal. The current threshold is remote income of at least four times the Portuguese minimum wage, €3,680 per month for a single applicant, plus savings of around €11,040.
Where the D8 gets interesting is the structure behind it: many applicants are better served invoicing through their own company, and some discover mid-process that what they actually want is the D2. We assess both before you file, not after.

For founders of innovative, scalable startups, built on a partnership with a certified Portuguese incubator. The bar is the project itself: innovation, scalability and the potential to create qualified employment in Portugal.
We prepare the corporate side, the incorporation, cap table and founder agreements, and coordinate the incubator application and residency filings so the timeline holds together.
Fixed fee, quoted in full after a scoping call.
A note on citizenship timelines. Portugal reformed its nationality law in 2026. Permanent residence remains available after 5 years of legal residence, but naturalisation now generally requires 7 to 10 years depending on your nationality. Anyone promising you "citizenship in 5 years" is quoting the old law. We advise on the rules as they stand, applied to your case.
Portugal channels substantial EU funding to companies that invest, hire and innovate here, through programmes such as Portugal 2030 and sector-specific incentive schemes. Most international founders never look at them, because nobody tells them they qualify.
We map your planned investment against the incentive programmes open at the time, and tell you plainly whether an application is worth the effort.
Structuring the project, the corporate vehicle and the documentation so the application stands on solid legal ground.
Grant conditions live on after the money arrives. We keep the corporate side compliant so funding is not clawed back.
